Injured Naxalite Arrested Including Ganpat Kolhe
Kishore Kavdo, a Nazalite, who was hiding in a village after being injured in an encounter on March 29, has been witnessed by the Gadchiroli police. A reward of Rs 16 lakh had been announced for his capture.
Kavdo (38) was elected from Katejari village in the Dhanora tehsil district. He has been hospitalized for treatment, after which the police will take action against him on various criminal charges.
The police had carried out an operation in the Khobramendha-Hetalkasa area on March 29, in which five naxals were killed. “Kavdo was injured in the encounter and the Naxalites let him fend for himself,” said a press release from Gadchiroli police.
“The police also arrested Ganpat Kolhe, a staunch Naxal supporter who assisted the Naxalites and Commander Kavdo in carrying out destructive acts against the Gadchiroli police,” the note read, adding: “Gadchiroli police will take further action against him as he has been involved in 22 cases, including murders, arson, and other crimes.
