Goa Police questioned two Sonali Phogat colleagues overnight about her suspected murder, an official said on Friday. Sonali Phogat is a BJP politician from Haryana.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), murder suspects Sudhir Sagwan and Sukhwinder Wasi have been apprehended but have not yet been arrested.
Jivba Dalvi, the deputy superintendent of police, had previously informed PTI on Thursday that they had been detained after an autopsy on Phogat’s corpse.
Inspector Prashal P N Desai of the Anjuna police station in the North Goa district said they had been held rather than arrested.

He refused to provide any other information but said both were interrogated all night.
The Goa Medical College and Hospital’s forensic specialists performed an autopsy on Phogat’s corpse on Thursday morning and noted in their report that there were several “blunt force injuries.” As a result, Anjuna police added the murder charge to the case of “unnatural death.”
Along with Sagwan and Wasi, Sonali Phogat, a former TikTok celebrity and social media influencer, came to Goa on August 22 and settled into a hotel in Anjuna.
She was delivered dead at St. Anthony Hospital the next day. The medical professionals first attributed her death to a possible heart attack.
According to a senior police officer, testimonies from everyone who has encountered Phogat or seen her since her arrival have been logged.
