The pacer Mohammed Shami bowled a fiery opening spell before Rahul Tewatia struck his unbeaten forty to assist Gujarat Titans to register a 5-wicket victory against Lucknow Super Giants in their debut IPL match of the season on Monday.
Shami (3/25) was bowling an explosive opening spell that knocked away the Super Giants’ top order before Gujarat Titans Deepak Hooda (55 off 41 balls) and Ayush Badoni (54 off 41 balls) batted the fifties in, helping the team to post the score of 158-6.

Skipper Hardik Pandya (33) and all-rounder Tewatia (40 in and in), Matthew Wade (30), and David Miller (30) then came together to get the Titans to victory.
In addition to Shami’s three wickets, Varun Aaron picked two wickets (2/45), and Rashid Khan (1/27) accounted for one batter for the Titans. Dushmantha Chameera (2/22) was the top pick of the bowlers at Super Giants.
