A disciplined bowling performance followed by a solid batting effort enabled Punjab Kings to defeat Gujarat Titans by eight wickets in IPL 2022 Match No. 48 at the Dr D.Y Patil Stadium on Tuesday.
Kagiso Rabada took 4/33 and helped Punjab Kings, who lost the toss and bowled first, keep Gujarat Titans at 143/8 in 20 overs even though Sai Sudharsan scored a hard-fought 50. (64 not out of 50).

Sudharsan, who came to bat at No. 3, was the only person for Gujarat to fight with the bat. They lost wickets at regular intervals during their innings. After him, Wriddhiman Saha scored 21 points out of 17 for GT. There were also wickets for Punjab from Rishi Dhawan (1/26), Liam Livingstone (1/15), and Arshdeep Singh (1/35), besides Rabada’s 4/33.
This led to a 50 from Shikhar Dhawan (62 not out of 53). He used all of his experience to hit it well! With Bhanuka Rajapaksalbw, he made a crucial 87-58 partnership for the second wicket. The Sri Lankan player was out in the 12th over, and the partnership was crucial.
With eight wickets in hand, Shikhar and Liam Livingstone both stayed unbeaten and helped Punjab Kings reach the target in just 16 balls with the help of their not-out pair.
Mohammed Shami took one wicket, and Lockie Ferguson took the other one for Gujarat.
