Rahul Tewatia hit two sixes off Odean Smith in the final two balls of the match as Gujarat Titans overcame Punjab Kings by six wickets in a dramatic IPL 2022 battle at the Brabourne Stadium on Friday (April 8).
From 21 off nine deliveries to 18 off, the last five balls bowled by Smith, Tewatia and David Miller made it to 13 off three balls when Miller hit a single. Tewatia then had to hit two sixes off the last two deliveries of the match to win the game for Gujarat Titans, who had successfully chased a target of 190.

Smith was almost caught by a fielder who nearly fell over the rope, but he slog-sweeps the last ball over the long-on boundary to seal a memorable victory for Gujarat Titans.
Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya were leading the way for Gujarat as they tried to reach a target of 190. Gill was four short of a century, and Pandya was run out on the first ball of the last over. It looked like the match was out of their hands until Tewatia came up with such a great idea.
Shubman Gill (96 – 59b, 11×4, 1×6) is to blame for putting Gujarat in a position where they could chase down Punjab Kings’ 189/9, which was reached thanks to Liam Livingstone’s 27-ball 64.
Shikhar Dhawan 35, Liam Livingstone 64, Rahul Chahar 22, and Rahul Tewatia 13 not out were the top three runs scored by Punjab Kings in the 20-over game against Gujarat Titans. Rashid Khan took 3/22, and Darshan Nalkande took 2/37.
