Jacksonville State Hires Rich Rodriguez as Head Coach.

The state of Jacksonville has hired former head coach of major colleges Rich Rodriguez to lead its program at the FBS level.

Rodriguez is a former coach in Arizona, Michigan, and West Virginia. He just finished his first season as Louisiana-Monroe offensive coordinator after having the same job in Mississippi in 2019.

Rodriguez, 58, replaces John Grass, who was 72-26 in eight seasons with the FCS program, which is moving to the US Conference.

Jacksonville State announced the hiring Monday night, and he will be introduced as the 28th head coach of the Gamecocks at a news conference Tuesday.
