Joe Biden rekindles tradition with Kennedy Center honorees.

President Joe Biden rekindled an old tradition that had been missing in D.C. for some time by attending Sunday’s Kennedy Center Honors ceremony. After the ceremony, he hosted the honorees at the White House.

While seated in the center, President Biden hosted a reception at the White House for the honorees of this year’s Life Time Achievement Awards.

Lorne Michaels and Bette Midler were honored with Justino Diaz, Berry Gordy, and Joni Mitchell.

Many prominent figures from the political world in the audience, including First Lady Jill Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris. Speaker Nancy Pelosi was also present.

People from the entertainment business included Steve Martin, David Letterman, and actor Steve Martin.

Biden, dressed in a tuxedo, shared some thoughts, highlighting the contributions of each person via their art while applauding them down the list.

He also remembered Steven Sondheim, the legendary music composer who had just passed away.

Although the reception lasted only half an hour, some people felt it was significant since they held it at the White House in 2016.

After threats of boycotting in 2017, President Trump discredited the ceremony for the first three years.
