KL Rahul's Lucknow Super Giants defeat Punjab Kings by 20 runs in IPL 2022

Lucknow Super Giants took advantage of the mistakes made by a team that was going downhill in the Indian Premier League on Friday. They won by 20 runs, which is a lot (April 29). This is how it worked: Kagiso Rabada hit four times, and the Punjab Kings got better at bowling to keep Lucknow Super Giants at 153 for eight. In the end, Punjab made a mistake and ended up with 133 for eight in 20 overs, which should have been easy to reach.

Pacers Dushmantha Chameera (2/17) and Krunal Pandya (2/11) led LSG’s effort with the ball. Still, they were also helped by the recklessness of the Punjab batters, especially captain Mayank Agarwal (25), Liam Livingstone (18) and Jonny Bairstow (16). (32).

Mohsin Khan, a left-arm fast bowler, also took three wickets. To bring Punjab back from the dead, Rishi Dhawan tried to do everything. It was too hard for him. It gets harder for Punjab because they have only won four games in nine for LSG.

Quinton de Kock (46 off 37) and Deepak Hooda (34 off 28) made 85 runs for LSG in the second wicket stand. That was the only good thing about their innings. Arshdeep Singh, Rahul Chahar, and Rabada were fast bowlers who took wickets in different ways. Sandeep Sharma also took a few wickets.

After captain Mayank Agarwal decided to bowl, Punjab’s pacers were very good in the power play, limiting LSG to 39 and taking the in-form K L Rahul (6). Rabada got rid of the other team’s captain while Arshdeep and Sandeep were getting the ball moving.

Rahul was bowled out by the South African fast bowler, making it look like he was bowled out in the Test match. With only 16 runs in the first four overs, de Kock broke the shackles for LSG by hitting Rabada for two successive sixes. One was a straight hit that hit the boundary rope, and the other was a vast hoick over midwicket.

Early in Hooda’s innings, he had a hard time rotating the strike. However, he started to get going with a straight six off Rishi Dhawan. Sandeep did a great job in his first spell, giving up only eight runs in three overs.

During the 10th over, LSG hit 67 for 1 and put Punjab in charge of the game.

After Liam Livingstone’s 11th over, LSG looked like they were getting into a rhythm. The dismissals of de Kock and Hooda made things even worse for them. De Kock was honest enough to walk back into the dressing room after getting a slight edge from Sandeep. Hooda paid the price for not being quick enough to get out of the way of a brilliant direct hit from the deep by Jonny Bairstow, though.

As they tried to reach 109 for five in 15 overs, LSG’s innings were going nowhere. With the help of Jason Holder (11 off 8), Dushmantha Chameera (17 off 10), and Mohsin Khan, LSG was able to reach the 150-run mark.
