Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport has commissioned a state-of-the-art Mobile Command Post, a facility to improve the handling of emergency situations in a more efficient and coordinated manner.

The facility is a robust, customized vehicle, fully equipped and equipped with specialized equipment. It serves as an on-site command, coordination, and communication center for handling emergencies at the airport. The facility serves as a point where liaison officers from the various cooperating agencies meet to plan and coordinate rescue operations. It is used to provide the assistance required by physicians in the triage area.

A statement issued by the authorities read: “It has a compartment … to be used on-site when necessary for rescue operations or in illegal situations.”

According to him, eight people can hold a round table conference or present on a digital whiteboard with a projector at a site inside the AC vehicle.

The vehicle is equipped with a generator to supply power for four hours, along with a two-hour backup installation. A clear visibility 500m pan, tilt and zoom camera, expandable to 1km, and images can be viewed inside the compartment on a 42-inch LED monitor. Four sets of pneumatic mast lights along with sets of VHF will monitor the frequency of air traffic control and adequate lighting of the site.

“To support the rescue team, there are night vision binoculars available,” said an official.
