Kolkata metro train will increase its service during Durga Puja

Kolkata metro train will increase its service during Durga Puja.

Kolkata Subway will increase the hours of its last subway leaving the station at 1:30 AM for Durga Puja from October 12-14. From Durga Puja Saptami to Nabami midnight, the metro’s operating hours will be from 10 AM to 11 PM.

“For the three main days of Puja, we have decided that we will increase the schedules of the last train to 1:30 am. Therefore, the last train will leave at 11:00 pm,” said Manoj Joshi, President of Kolkata. Metro Rail Corporation.

Metro has also decided to increase the frequency of trains during those three days with an increase in security arrangements.

“For crowd management, we have increased the frequency of trains at night. There will be subway trains running every six minutes. Railway police and special station staff will handle the crowd. There will be no interruptions in the security arrangements Special control room and a monitoring room were installed in Metro Bhawan where our officers will closely monitor, “added Joshi.

The city dwellers are grateful for the decision made by the authorities because they usually get up late at night while returning home after visiting pandalos in the city.

“It will be very helpful for us. Before when we used to go shopping and if we were late, there was always this apprehension as to whether or not we took the subway or the bus.

Also, we go to the puja pandals a bit late at night. No one comes home after pandals at 8:30 pm, we usually stay out until 11:00 pm Now that the time and frequency have increased, it is very useful for us. The frequency will also generate fewer meters. ” said Deepti Sharma, a Kolkata resident.
