They defeated Norway’s Ulrikke Eikeri and Joran Vliegen of Belgium 7-6(5) 6-2.

After a challenging first set on a sunkissed Court, Philippe Chatrier, the second seeds, sailed through the second set, adding to Koolhof’s ATP Tour Finals triumph in the men’s doubles for 2020.
Shibahara and Koolhof broke early in the opening set, only for Eikeri and Vliegen to break back for 4-5, forcing the set to a tiebreak, which Shibahara won at the net to give the second-seeded pair the lead.
With the pair’s sixth race of the match, she sealed the first final of this year’s Roland Garros.
