Maharashtra reported 9,336 new COVID-19 cases and 123 deaths.

Maharashtra on Sunday reported 9,336 new positive coronavirus cases and 123 deaths, bringing the infection count to 60,98,177 and the death toll to 1,23,030, the state health department said.

A total of 3,378 patients were discharged during the day, raising the recovery count in Maharashtra to 58,48,693 so far, leaving the state with 1,23,225 active cases, the department said in a statement.

The case recovery rate in Maharashtra is now 95.91% and the death rate is 2.01%.

Mumbai reported 553 cases during the day and 24 deaths, bringing the number of cases to 7.24,675 and the death count to 15,544, the department said.

The Mumbai division reported 1,775 Covid-19 cases and 27 deaths, bringing the count to 16.02.903 and the death toll to 32,293.

The Nashik division reported 669 new cases, while the Pune division added 2,380 infections, including 764 in the Satara district.

The Kolhapur division reported 389 cases, the Kolhapur district 1,461 and the Sangli district 1,073, according to the department.

Aurangabad Division reported 194 new cases, Latur Division 242, Akola Division 97, and Nagpur Division 82.

With 2,22,063 new tests, the total number of samples analyzed so far in Maharashtra rose to 4,25,42,943, the department said.
