Mamta Says Only PM’s Beard Growing but not the Economy
A day before the first phase of the West Bengal elections, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, saying his beard was the only thing growing in a slowing economy.
“He calls himself Vivekananda, sometimes he says he is Rabindranath Tagore and now he has named a stadium after him. A long beard cannot turn anyone into Rabindranath Tagore. The Indian economy has taken to the air. Industrial growth has stopped in our country, only a beard grows. Sometimes he dresses as Rabindranath Tagore and sometimes as Mahatma Gandhi, ”Banerjee said at a public meeting in the Paschim Medinipur district. He addressed rallies in Chandrakona, Debra, and Daspur.
She added: “The BJP has two unions, one riot from Delhi to Gujarat and UP, and what should I say about the other? I think something is wrong with their brains, some screws in their brains seem to be loose. ”
Banerjee reiterated that the day is not far off when the whole country will be sold and named after Narendra Modi.
The president of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), who is challenging Nandigram’s election in the Purba Medinipur district, alleged that the opposition party had targeted “thugs to threaten people” and said she would remain in Nandigram from March 28 until the end of the vote. on April 1, as the BJP had “plans to loot votes using thugs from other states.”
