Man Arrested For Throwing Acid On Sister-In-Law In Ghaziabad

A man was arrested in Ghaziabad for throwing acid at his sister-in-law while she was sleeping, police said Monday.

The defendant Lakhan Yadav (25) is married to the victim’s older sister but was reportedly attempting to establish physical relations with her sister-in-law.

The incident took place in the village of Morti during midnight Sunday and Monday around 1.30 am, police said.

While at his in-laws’ house, Yadav threw acid in his sister-in-law’s face and returned to her bed. He then took the victim to a hospital along with his father-in-law so that no one would suspect him, police said.

Acting on suspicion, the victim’s father filed an FIR against Yadav, said the station’s home official, Nand Gram Neeraj Kumar.

During questioning, Yadav confessed to the crime and said he did not like him talking to other men, he said.

The police arrested him and charged him under section 326 A of the IPC.

The bottle of acid was recovered and where it was obtained from is under investigation, the SHO said.
