Man Surprises Halftime Dancers with Proposal in middle of the Basketball Court

Man Surprises Halftime Dancers with Proposal in the middle of the Basketball Court.

Danielle Bush knew the routine by heart, up to the point that her music changed.

In a video watched thousands of times, Bush as a Utah Jazz basketball team member was seen on the court Monday during the game against the Charlotte Hornets.

While she was going through her typical routine, the other dancers turned the script over while she tried following but was unsure. Bruno Mars’ song “Marry You” was then played over the speakers.

Then her boyfriend, Brandon, came onto the court to astonish Danielle. She sat her hands on her mouth while he dropped to one knee, with a small box in his hand. He then removed the engagement ring and then proposed.

The two exchanged a few words in secret while the crowd and dancers looked at.

Then, finally, Brandon was given the go-ahead to wear the ring. He was then greeted with the joyous embrace of the dancers.

In the beginning, Bush said, she was afraid she would lose the job she was working for. It was not clear to her that the proposal was planned months and was arranged by Brandon and Ashley Kelson, the Utah Jazz dance coach, Ashley Kelson.

“I determined to create something huge and memorable for her,” Kelson said. “Making it part of our routine was an absolute blast.”

“In an arena filled with thousands of spectators, all I will see are you,” Bush posted today on her Instagram page. “It was romantic the moment I first saw you, and now nearly three years later, I feel butterflies each time I get home from work or practice.”

She also thanked her instructor and her fellow dancers “for giving me the most unforgettable event of my entire life.”

The Jazz Dancers’ Instagram page posted a short video of the wedding proposal. The caption accompanied it: “What a night! Congrats Danielle, as well as Brandon! We had a blast being a part of this celebration with you.”

Frank Zang, the spokesperson for the Utah Jazz, told Newsweek, “The proposal was not just a surprise, but it turned into an absolute moment of happiness that we were thrilled to share with a sold-out Jazz crowd and the rest of the Jazz the holiday season.”

Another Twitter user who claimed to be an ex-teacher, dancer and choreographer, said that the change of the music would be an “absolute disaster” for Bush since dancing artists are “supposed to follow the current” and stay with the routine and the music they know.
