Gerhard Milletich, the Austrian national team head coach, said that German coach Ralf Rangnick had been chosen to lead the team (April 29). He will leave Manchester United at the end of the season after taking over as interim manager for the club in November 2021.
This will happen until the end of the season when Erik ten Hag takes over for Manchester United. He came to Old Trafford after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired.

Rangnick was told about his new job as head coach of Austria. “An honour for me to become a head coach. I can’t wait to work with a group of young people who want to win and compete at the Euro (2024) in Germany. “There is a reason Rangnick said this:
He will sign for two years at first, but if the team makes it to Euro 2024, then the contract is automatically extended for two more years for the World Cup in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The FA said this.
For the last 15 years, Austria hasn’t been to a World Cup. They reached the last 16 of Euro 2020, but they haven’t been in one since 1998. The FA said they thought he would take over in late May after the Premier League season.
Milletich said at a news conference: “We are delighted that Ralf Rangnick has been chosen as our team manager. He is an expert in international football.”
“We think he’s the right person to lead the OEFB (Austrian FA) and the national team. He’ll move the OEFB and the national team forward with his ideas. Ralf Rangnick is a name that many people thought was impossible to come up with, but it is. When the national team has a coach of this caliber, it sends a message to the FA and the whole country.”
The German took over at Manchester United after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired in November. He agreed to work as a consultant for two years when he took the job. He will be in charge of Austria before their games in June in the Nations League.
Austria’s first match in the Nations League will be against Croatia on June 3. They also play Denmark and France, as well as a lot more. Rangnick has been the head coach of Hoffenheim, Schalke 04, and Leipzig in the Bundesliga. He also worked as the sports director for Austria’s Salzburg from 2012 to 2015.
