Massive bombing in Murshidabad yesterday night: TMC Panchayat president’s driver killed.
Trinamool (TMC) Block and Panchayat Samiti president’s driver killed. On Sunday evening, a massive bombardment was carried out targeting the grassroots leader.
Although the president survived for a short time, his driver and a party worker were seriously injured. His bodyguard was slightly wounded. The driver died on the way to the hospital.
There has been widespread unrest in the Kartik neighborhood of Raninagar in Murshidabad.
Trinamool president Shah Alam Sarkar of Raninagar 2 block has a pond in Kartik’s Para. Most of the day, he would sit there in the afternoon and talk.
The president of the panchayat association said, “I will leave to return. At that time, the miscreants threw a socket bomb at the car from the front and fled.”
The driver and party workers were seriously injured. The security guard was also slightly injured. Shah Alam Sarkar, Trinamool president of Raninagar 2 block, said, “Congress, CPM-backed miscreants threw socket bombs to kill me.
Fortunately, I survived.” He further said, “Jharu Sheikh of Godhanpara, the boxers are the ones who bombed.” After the incident, the locals rescued the injured and took them to Godhanpara Block Hospital in Raninagar.
They shifted them to Murshidabad Medical College Hospital as their condition was critical. Later, an attempt was made to take the injured to SSKM. However, the driver of the Trinamool Bloc and Panchayat Samiti president died on the way.
Trinamool Raninagar MLA Soumik Hossain directly blamed Congress, CPM, and BJP for the incident. They will take strict action against it.”
Meanwhile, former Raninagar Congress leader Firoza Begum said, “The opposition does not dare to attack the grassroots in Raninagar.
That is due to the factionalism of the grassroots. A part of the grassroots has been homeless for years. All the people Shah Alam is naming are from the grassroots.”
Superintendent of Police K Sabari Rajkumar said, “Two people have been arrested so far. Two bags of bombs were also recovered.”
