Minecraft player spends weeks recreating Rivendell from Lord of the Rings.
It’s Wednesday, and while that normally means we’d have another Minecraft snapshot to watch, this week’s beta preview has been delayed, so what better time to delve into the world of Minecraft creations? Today we have a particularly impressive version of Rivendell as it appears in the Peter Jackson films The Lord of the Rings.
Creator 1nsinuating says on Reddit that the compilation took between three and four weeks to complete, using a combination from WorldEdit, VoxelSniper, and a handcrafted old build for the structure itself. Look closely and you will see a small number of repeated trees in the whole environment, but that doesn’t make the effort any less impressive.
Apart from the tools, everything is Minecraft vanilla – the visual effects you see above are just for the photo, rendered in Blender and Photoshop. 1sinuating is a member of Sapphire Studies, a construction group that orders and brings DLC to the official Minecraft market.
