MS Dhoni has decided not to make any commercial endorsements in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and instead switched its focus to organic farming.
Dhoni, who has been on a cricket gap year since the 2019 World Cup, is now preparing to launch his own brand of organic fertilizers soon.
“Patriotism is in his blood, whether serving the country (in defense) or (cultivating) the land, he is very passionate about it. He has around 40-50 acres of farmland and is busy cultivating organic crops like papaya, banana there, ”said his manager and childhood friend, Mihir Diwakar, as he spoke to PTI.
“He has stopped supporting the brand and has said that until life returns to normal, he will not engage in any commercial activity,” Diwakar added.
Dhoni was recently seen driving a tractor during the shutdown. Dhoni’s machine is a Swaraj 963 FE tractor that features a four-wheel-drive system. It is powered by a 3,478 cc, three-cylinder engine and can generate power of up to 60 to 65 hp.

He had also spoken about the harmful effects of pesticides in promoting organic agriculture.
“We have a team of experts and scientists who have developed the fertilizer and it should be launched in two to three months,” Diwakar said.
“I spoke to him after midnight. It was a normal business conversation. As usual, Dhoni would be at home with his family, with a quiet birthday celebration.
Diwakar also said that together with Dhoni he will team up to launch his organic fertilizer under Neo Global.
The fertilizer is being tested on the Dhoni farm.
