Multiple shooters opened fire in Sacramento in US, killing 6 and 12 injured. 

Sacramento: Multiple shooters opened fire amid crowds as bars and nightclubs emptied for the night. 

It is the second mass shooting in California’s capital city in five weeks, killing six people and injuring 12, according to the police chief.

According to Police Chief Kathy Lester, three of those deceased were women, and three were men. 

According to a police spokesman, Sgt. Zach Eaton, investigators believe there were at least two shooters.

Authorities said they had found at least one firearm and investigated video footage posted to social media.

That showed what looked to be an incident before the shooting erupted on Sunday afternoon. Eaton said police didn’t know if the fight was related to the shooting.

According to Lester, a police camera filmed part of the incident, and investigators have discovered hundreds of pieces of evidence. 

In addition, Lester describes the incident as “very intricate and convoluted” because a stolen firearm was discovered.

Hundreds of blue and yellow evidence markers dot the pavement as the crime scene spreads across many city blocks. Several of the injured were treated in hospitals for life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Kelsey Schar said she heard gunshots and saw sparks in the dark while staying on the fourth floor of the Citizen Hotel.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Schar said she walked up to the glass and “saw a person running and just shooting.”

On the edges of the city’s major entertainment district, the location where the incident happened is densely packed with restaurants and clubs. Nightclubs close at 2 a.m., and it’s common for the streets to be packed.

The Golden One Center, which hosts big-name concerts and is home to the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, is the district’s focal point. 

In addition, city officials have made significant investments in the area to encourage growth.

Officials said that twelve more people were shot and wounded in the melee, with at least four suffering critical injuries. Witnesses and anyone with video of the incident were requested to contact the police.
