Narendra Modi will visit Nepal on the occasion of Buddha Purnima on May 16

The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is ready to take a new trip. When I go to Nepal this time, it’s only for a few hours. On May 16, the PM will make a short trip to Lumbini, where Buddha was born. The Nepalese Prime Minister’s press advisor says that PM Modi will go to Nepal at the request of his Nepalese counterpart, Sher Bahadur Deuba.

PM Modi will make a short stop at Lumbini in western Nepal on Buddha Purnima, the day Lord Buddha was born. He will be Prime Minister Modi’s first trip to Nepal after re-election in 2019. Prime Minister Deuba will also be there, along with his Indian counterpart. When it comes to making an official announcement about the trip, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hasn’t done so yet.

It was Deuba’s first trip abroad as prime minister for the fifth time when he went to Delhi last month. Deuba and Modi talked about many important things during their visit, which was meant to give their relationship a boost. One of them was the boundary issue. In April, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted ahead of the Modi-Deuba talks: “A new chance to strengthen the specialties of friendship and cooperation between our two countries.
We look forward to it.”

“Roti Beti” has been a relationship between India and Nepal for a long time, and its leaders have often talked about it. The landlocked Himalayan country has a border with five Indian states that is more than 1,850 miles long. The five states are Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Nepal relies a lot on India to move goods and services.
