Navy helicopter crashes in Mexico killed 19 people

According to a statement from Mexican Navy authorities, a helicopter accident in Sinaloa on Friday claimed the lives of 14 individuals. 

The Black Hawk helicopter crashed near the coastal city of Los Mochis, according to the Mexican Navy. However, the cause of the disaster is yet unclear.

The incident resulted in the transportation of 15 persons, 14 of whom perished, according to the Navy. One individual is getting medical care.

According to the Navy, there is no evidence that the accident was connected to the arrest of notorious drug kingpin Rafael Caro Quintero on Friday. 

Quintero was not on board, but the accident was connected to the operation, according to a U.S. official after the raid.

There was no further information immediately available regarding the collision.
