Neeraj Chopra starts 90-day off-season training in the US:

Tokyo Olympics Gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has begun his off-season training for 90 days in Chula Vista, the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Centre in California, USA.

The 23-year-old athlete has begun preparing for 2022’s World Athletics Championships, Commonwealth Games, and the Asian Games in the prestigious training center.

The cutting-edge facility is spread across an area of 155 acres, is considered to be one of the top venues for training and competition.

In a post on Twitter, Neeraj wrote: “It’s time to put the past at rest and concentrate on the f.ure. I’m in my off-season training and am looking at the possibility of resuming improving.

The 90-day training camp will conclude on March 4, 2021. It will assist Neeraj to get ready for the season of action that includes events like the World Championships in Oregon, the USA, and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, the United Kingdom, and the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

The coach Klaus Bartonietz is also traveling together with Neeraj Chopra. Sports Authority of India on Friday approved a plan to allow Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra to go to the United States of America.

The plan was put forward by SAI following the idea to build the javelin thrower in Potchefstroom was abandoned because of the COVID-19 strain being used in South Africa.
