NeoCov: New type of Coronavirus with high death warning by Wuhan scientists.

Chinese researchers from Wuhan have been warned of a new Coronavirus, NeoCoV, that has the potential for a high death rate and prevalence.

According to a Sputnik report, NeoCov is a NeoCov virus discovered within South Africa. It is reported to be related to the Middle East respiratory syndrome MERS-COV.

NeoCoV was first identified among bats of South Africa, and it then was spread to other animals, as per the Sputnik report.

A recent study has suggested that a single mutation could result in the virus being transmitted between animals and humans.

The study found that NeoCoV and its close relative, PDF-2180-CoV, can use some types of bat Angiotensin-converting enzyme2 (ACE2) and human ACE2 to enter the body.

However, the researchers insist that a mutation could lead to the virus spreading through human cells, Sputnik reported.

Scientists of Wuhan University have revealed the shocking discovery. Wuhan University and Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The study isn’t yet peer-reviewed, but it is available as an unpublished bioRxiv preprint.

Sputnik quoted Wuhan researchers in their report NeoCoV is a virus that carries the possibility of a high mortality rate of MERS-CoV (where one out of three people dies the per average) along with the high rate of transmission of the current SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Responding to the results of the latest report, Russian researchers from Vector Russian State Research Centre of Virology and Biotechnology declared that they knew about the Chinese study on NeoCoV coronavirus.

However, they also stated that the findings do not suggest the emergence of a coronavirus new to the world that could be transmitted to people and called for a deeper investigation in this area.
