A single Animal Crossing: New Horizons player is bringing this style of DIY crafting to the real world by creating an actual DIY card, including the container it was floating on.
Every day, a message from a bottle could appear on the island’s beaches. The bottle will have an address and a recipe for a homemade. If no one picks one of the bottles up, two could be born the next day.
DIY recipes can be obtained through various ways, like gifts from the village or bought through Nook’s Cranny.
Reddit user Bubbiboo posted photos of their attempts to recreate the one from Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘ DIY cards still in bottles.

The bottle is a tiny round glass bottle sealed with a thick cork. Similar to the game’s in-game bottles that could washed up on the beach.
Inside, a full-color model of the DIY card is visible. The first image shows the reverse of the card with the famous acorn design. And the third photo illustrates how to make the DIY recipe.
The card that DIY Bubbiboo chose to make this project was for The Star Wand, one of Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ various tools. The Star Wand allows players to access their saved outfits. As well as the in-game recipe acquired from the owl villager Celeste.
The crafting process in the game requires one large star fragment and three Star fragments. The real-life version shows well.
According to Bubbiboo, the players had folded the entire card as hot dogs to fit it into the bottle. Luckily, the card doesn’t have any wrinkles or folds in the photos, even though it does appear to curve slightly.
