New Weapon in Destiny 2 Changes Combat: The new threats in the game’s sequel, Destiny The Witch Queen, means that Guardians have to find new ways of fighting to stop the threat.
The most recent expansion will be coming into Destiny 2 later this month. It introduces something Guardians haven’t seen for a long time: a brand new weapon archetype.
The Glaive has heavily promoted since the launch of The Witch Queen expansion. It initially thought to be an Exotic melee weapon. It’s now clear that Glaives will be a brand new type of weapon. That is the first time this has announced since Bows were added to the game with the Forsaken expansion.
Interview with Game Informer James Tsai explained the reasons behind why Guardians will receive this new weapon type to fight Savathun’s Lucent Brood.
What will the future hold for us?
The Glaives will serve an entirely new function in Guardians as a medium- to a short-range melee weapon.
The short-range attack will include massive thrusts that target enemies who can reach close. There will be an enormous damage explosion that can target a packed crowd at a medium distance.
Tsai stated in the interview that the Glaive would perform multiple roles. In the offensive, multiple strikes will accompany different animations to feel more fluid.
In defense, the Glaive can use to ward off attacks and boost to help Guardians take on enemies invading.
The Glaive appears to in a place where Guardians required to remain near Hive enemies. Which Bungie believes neither Fusion Rifles nor Shotguns can effectively deal with.
New Weapon in Destiny 2 Changes Combat
The Glaive could be a weapon that Guardians use during the limited timeframe to take down the Ghosts of the Hive Knights with Light or Wizards.
In the most recent Witch Queen Weapons trailers, a specific Glaive will be available for every Guardian class. This Glaive will announce alongside a new feature to this part of the game’s Destiny franchise, Weapon Crafting.
There will be a campaign that will outline why Guardians are now using the new weapon type and why they can create their weapon with custom-designed attributes and stats.
It is possible to see the return of Ada-1 and her forges following the possibility of dropping her stigmas about helping the Guardians with the more significant looming threat.
This brand new weapon archetype and the potential implications for gameplay are a thrilling new part of The Destiny universe.
The excitement for new weapons could be incorporated into the overall excitement about The Witch Queen’s upcoming game, which led to one million preorders.
It’s an intriguing concept; however, it boils to implementation and how well this new weapon and its potential perks at Legendary or Exotic levels integrate with The Destiny 2 Sandbox.
Destiny 2 is available across PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, with The Witch Queen expansion scheduled to launch on the 22nd of February.
