Nigeria will restrict India and Brazil Passengers to their land due to the Covid 19.
Nigeria will restrict entry to non-Nigerian passengers from Brazil, India, or Turkey in the past fortnight due to concerns about the spread of the coronavirus in those three nations, health authorities said on Sunday.
The travel ban does not apply to passengers who have transited those countries, the presidential steering committee on Covid-19 said in a statement.
“These precautionary measures are a necessary step to minimize the risk of an increase in COVID-19 cases introduced into Nigeria from other countries,” the statement said.
Nigerians and permanent residents who have been in those countries in the past 14 days will be required to undergo a mandatory quarantine for one week at a government-approved facility upon arrival, he said.
All passengers arriving in Nigeria will now have to submit a negative Covid-19 test performed within 72 hours of travel instead of the previous 96-hour period.
Nigeria, one of the big names in Africa, has reported just over 165,000 coronavirus cases. So they don’t want to take any risk in the upcoming days.
