Night curfew imposed in parts of Karnataka

Amid a surge in Covid-19 cases, the Karnataka government on Thursday announced a 10-day night curfew starting April 10 in various parts of the state. “A night curfew will be imposed from 10 pm to 5 am every day from April 10 to 20 in Bengaluru, Mysore, Mangalore, Kalaburagi, Bidar, Tumkur and Udupi-Manipal,” said Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa. “We will see its effectiveness and we will decide to extend it. Essential services will work. This is on a trial basis, ”he said.

Karnataka has seen more than 5,000 Covid-19 cases in recent days, most of them in Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir administration also decided to impose a night curfew from April 10 on urban areas in eight districts that have seen an increase in cases. “He ordered the divisional administration to impose a curfew in Corona from 10 pm to 6 am in urban areas of eight districts affected by the recent increase in #COVID,” Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha tweeted.

These districts are Jammu, Udhampur, Kathua, Srinagar, Baramulla, Budgam, Anantnag, and Kupwara.
