Indian industrialist Gautam Adani says that if the country becomes a $30-trillion-a-year economy by 2050, it can also be home to a country where no one goes to bed hungry. His group runs many businesses, from airports and ports to power generation and distribution.
“We are about 10,000 days from the year 2050. Over the next few years, I think we’ll add about $25 trillion to our economy. This means that $2.5 billion is added to the GDP every day. I also believe that we’ll have eliminated all forms of poverty by the end of this time, “Mr Adani told the India Economic Conclave, which the Times Network held on Thursday.

In 2021, Mr Adani added $49 billion to his wealth, totalling $81 billion, making him the world’s second-richest person. He also said that even though the numbers and optimism are unique, he thinks we can make this happen in just 10,000 days.
As long as the economy grows as planned, this could also mean that during these 10,000 days, the stock markets will add about $40 trillion in market capitalization, which means that each day until 2050, they will add $4 billion.
When it comes to improving the lives of 1.4 billion people, Mr Adani said, “It may seem like a long race in the short term, but in the long run, it’s a sprint.”
The World Bank said in its most recent report on poverty in India that India saw a massive drop in extreme poverty between 2011 and 2019. It went from 22.5 per cent to 10.2 per cent.
