Nomadland is one of the best film Nominated for the Oscars: Read the Nomadland Movie Review
When the gypsum mine in Nevada closed, the whole city of Empire was abandoned. The time, of course, is not today, but in the last century of the Great Depression. Swamihara Fern made his car a moving house and fell out on the way. A bit like vagabonds or gypsies. There is no setback. Just move forward with the pull of eyes and mind. The whole picture is made in the style of ‘Road Movies’. The path is then Fern’s house, the house is his van, and a family is a group of unknown people. Many of them are wandering like ferns.
Nomadland Movie Review
Fern once said, “I’m not homeless, you can say houseless!” Every man has to find a house, who else can find a house like his mind !! Fern didn’t get it, as did Swanki, Dave. Got a path mate again. Who wanted Fern to be his companion at the end of his life. No, not Fern. He will not bind himself in any other bond. In the ‘Empire’ left behind, he came back to his broken home for once, but he came out again and fell on the way. Not to find a companion on the path, but to seek a different purpose in life by becoming a pathfinder. That search is eternal, everlasting, to any sensitive human being.
Ting Zhao brings Fern’s long journey to the audience in a very simple, straightforward manner. There is a small flashback, but it is also smooth. Not just Fern’s life as a hobbyist, but a bunch of other real ‘Nomads’. Many of them are not actors, they are real vagabonds. And it is here that Zhao has made the film an impeccable genre of documentary with the touch of a documentary. How much work did Fern have to do as a vagabond! Cleaning the toilet from the general packer of the Amazon company, working hand in hand with everyone did not leave anything out. In fact, everyone tries to bring a kind of community feeling between eating and living together. It is very clear in the picture.
Zhao has been relied upon since receiving the Golden Lion for Best Picture at the Venice Festival last year. Seeing her first film ‘Sons My Brother Tot Me’, I guessed that this expatriate Chinese girl has a different mentality. Not exactly compatible with Chinese managers. ‘Nomadland’ proved that the way he can enter a woman’s mind is not possible for any male director. No, that’s why she doesn’t need to wear a feminist badge. Zhao is a free-spirited man who began to search for life in his own thoughts, in his mind. Not standing under the shadow of a man. That is the underlying power of this film.

What luck! Ting Zhao has got a strong actress like Frances McDormand. It was an intimate experience to see the close-up of his broken face as Joshua James played with a map of feelings in front of the camera. Francis is again one of the producers of this film. So he deserves another compliment. Life flows, he has to give in the book. Life stops when it is stopped. Most of us have a laid-back attitude when it comes to painting a picture of ourselves. Ting Zhao said that the other meaning of life is to get on the path, to find the path, to know the companion of the path. But don’t tie yourself to any binding.
