OnePlus may soon launch its first truly wireless headphones, which are expected to be called the OnePlus Pods, as the company poked fun at the launch of new yet undisclosed headphones today. Meanwhile, an informant suggested that the headphones be listed on Amazon India’s subscription portal, suggesting a launch at the electronic retailer. OnePlus also reportedly received TWS headphone certification from the Finnish agency SGS Fimko. When launched this would be the first OnePlus True Wireless Stereo (TWS) headset. The new headphones are also expected to launch alongside OnePlus Nord on July 21.
OnePlus India today released a sneak peek at the headphones on its Twitter bill. The company shared a photo of its Bullets Wireless, Bullets Wireless 2, and Bullets Wireless Z headsets with the caption: “A flashback image? Not quite. A sign of what’s next in line? Perhaps.”
Almost at the same time, tipster Mukul Sharma tweeted that OnePlus TWS headphones were listed in the Amazon India subscription section. This further supported rumors that OnePlus Pods may be on the way and that an Indian launch is imminent.
In other report, MySmartPrice claimed that OnePlus Pods had been certified by the Finnish-based SGS Fimko agency. The report also noted that E501A was the OnePlus Pods model number, citing a source. The certification hinted that OnePlus Pods would come with a 5V / 1.5A or 7.5W charging case.
In early May, an informant suggested that OnePlus’ TWS offering could be called “OnePlus Buds” and that a July launch was expected. In June, another tip suggested that the headphones could actually be called “OnePlus Pods”. OnePlus Pods are expected to be able to come in black and with an internal design.
The company confirmed earlier this week that its next mid-range phone, OnePlus Nord, will launch on July 21. Given all the latest news, OnePlus Pods is expected to launch on the same day as well. However, OnePlus has yet to be officially confirmed.
