Operation Ganga

The ninth flight of Operation Ganga, which brought 218 Indian nationals who had been stuck in Ukraine back to the Indian capital from Bucharest, arrived on Tuesday.

After Russia attacked Ukraine, the Indian government wanted to bring back its citizens. This flight is part of that effort.

Currently, India is evacuating its citizens from Ukraine by taking them by land to the country’s neighbors, which are Romania, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia.

They then fly them out of there. Because of the conflict with Russia, Ukraine has closed its airspace.

On Tuesday morning, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw welcomed the batch of Indian nationals at the Indira Gandhi International Airport and assured them that the Indian government was working to ensure that every Indian in Ukraine returns home safe.

“The Indian government is doing everything it can to make sure that all of the students who went to Ukraine are safe when they get back. Tell their friends in Ukraine that they are strong and that they should wait for things to work out, “he was sure.

In the past, a flight from Bucharest with 182 Indian nationals on board arrived in Mumbai.

The minister said there are rail help desks set up at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

After you get off the plane, “railway help desks” have been set up to help you get home, he said.

As estimated by the government, about 18,000 Indian students are enrolled in universities across Ukraine.
