Oxygen Express Train Carrying 120 tons of LMO arrives in Karnataka.

An express oxygen train from Jamshedpur carrying 120 tons of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) arrived in Bengaluru on Tuesday, railway officials said. So far, the state has received 480 tons of oxygen from Odisha and Jharkhand by rail, Aneesh Hegde, South Western Railway chief public relations officer, told PTI.

According to Hegde, the fourth train had left Jamshedpur in the early hours of Monday and arrived in Bengaluru this morning with LMOs in six containers.

Karnataka’s chief minister, BS Yediyurappa, has said that the state-required around 1,200 tons of oxygen to meet

demand as COVID cases increased.

The Navy has also contributed to supply LMOs and medical supplies to the state, which are essential for treating coronavirus infections.
