Pakistan's mullahs celebrate the Taliban's win in Afghanistan.

A close examination of the various religious organizations based in Pakistan indicates growing rhetoric among them in favor of the victory of the Taliban in Afghanistan. Indeed, such a compelling narrative can harm the interests of Pakistan and the wider region.

The head of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam (S) and the Difa-e-Pakistan Council, Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq Haqqani, described the victory of the Taliban as the victory of the ideology of Maulana Sami-ul- Haq and his thoughts and announced that next Friday, August 27, they would celebrate “Youm-e-Tashkkur,” which is thanks to Allah for the victory of the Taliban.

Maulana Hamid said the world should not impose its so-called democratic system on Afghanistan, as the Taliban had learned a lot in the last 20 years. Maulana Hamid demanded that the world immediately recognize the Taliban government and resume diplomatic relations. Maulana Hamid was heading to a meeting at the Lahore Press Club after a JUI Shura session.

The Maulana further thanked Allah for the latest development in Afghanistan. It said that by announcing amnesty for all, the Taliban had won the hearts of the Afghan people, world forces were playing with blood and fear in Afghanistan for the past 40 years. There were pro-Indian and US governments in Kabul for 20 years.

He mentioned that the Taliban have liberated their country from the occupied forces and entered Kabul peacefully. The people have welcomed them; if there had been contradictions in the sayings and deeds of the Taliban, they would not have won this victory, he said.

In addition, Maulana Haq has announced that on November 2, in commemoration of the death of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, significant conferences will be held in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. In these conferences, Taliban leaders will also be invited. On this occasion, rallies will be held throughout the country.

Maulana said they thanked Rabta Alami Islami for extending his support to the Taliban. Pakistan’s borders will be safe now after the Taliban government has taken over Afghanistan. Haq said that they would try to form a religious alliance in Pakistan. If all spiritual forces come together, Pakistan can be like a Medina state in the true sense of the word.

Before the press conference, Maulana Hamid had said in the JUI Shura that they would convene a session of political and religious parties to discuss the Afghan issue and extend support for the Taliban. The session will pay attention to the problems and difficulties facing the Taliban.
Separately, Tahaffuz-e-Khatm-e-Nabuwat, an alliance of 13 major religious parties, issued a statement (August 22) and rejected a European Union resolution on ending the Khatm-e-Nabuwat laws. Either make it ineffective or release the accused of blasphemy.

The TKN mentioned that the EU resolution was an open interference in the rules of Pakistan and a violation of international laws. The European Union resolution had hurt the religious sentiments of 22 Pakistani crores, the statement said. Furthermore, they demanded that the EU apologize and withdraw the solution and mentioned that any conspiracy in the Khatm-e-Nabuwat would be an attack on the faith of 2 billion Muslims.
