Petrol and diesel prices kept going up for the seventh day on Tuesday (March 29, 2022). They went up by 80 paise and 70 paise a liter each.
Petrol prices have reached Rs 100 per liter mark in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.
In the national capital, petrol and diesel price is Rs 100.21 per liter and Rs 91.47 per liter, respectively. In Mumbai, the price of petrol is now Rs 115.04 per liter, and the price of diesel is now Rs 99.25 per liter.

Chennai, the price of petrol has gone up by 76 paise and now costs Rs 105.94 and diesel costs Rs 96. It costs Rs 109.68 for petrol and Rs 94.62 for diesel.
The Opposition asked for a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the House floor about the rise in fuel and cooking gas prices on Monday. They also asked for a rollback.
According to the opposition, there was no evidence that prices went up because of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
“Their pockets are being robbed” because of rising prices, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the Congress’ leader in Lok Sabha, said when he talked about it during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha.
Monday saw a 30 paise rise in the price of petrol and 35 paise in diesel price. This means that prices have risen by about 4 to 10 rupees per liter in the last week. That was the sixth time fuel prices increased since a four-and-a-half-month break-in rate changed on March 22.
First, prices went up by 80 paise each time. This was the biggest single-day rise since the daily price revision was started in June 2017. Petrol prices rose by 50 paise per liter and diesel by 55. It costs more to buy petrol and diesel on Sunday.
