Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returned to training with the Gabon team
before Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations clash against Ghana after being harmful to Covid-19.
The 32-year old – who has been a bit out of favor in the club of Arsenal but was stripped of
his captaincy in March – and Mario Lemina tested positive the week before and did not play
in Gabon’s opening game 1-0 against Comoros earlier on Monday.
But the coach Patrice Neveu has been ruled out by the players after they tested positive, as
per the Gabonese Football Federation.
Gabon has had a difficult pre-season for the biennial showpiece continental tournament.
The Gabonese government was forced to settle an issue between teams and the Federation
regarding match bonuses.
At the same time, they were being scolded by the Confederation of African Football (CAF)
was scolding them for violating the rules by changing hotels in Yaounde.
