Police arrested man with body armour and ammunition outside Capitol.
On Friday morning, a guy was caught outside the United States Capitol with a phony I.D., B.B. gun, body armor, high-capacity magazines, and other ammunition.
Just before 5 a.m. Friday, U.S. Capitol Police officers discovered the guy, identified as 53-year-old Jerome Felipe of Flint, Mich. A Capitol police officer approached the individual, who was parked on the west side of the Capitol in his Dodge Charger.
According to U.S. Capitol Police, Felipe, a former police officer, provided officers with a false INTERPOL badge that stated “Department of the INTERPOL” and claimed to be a criminal investigator with the agency.

Felipe’s car was allowed to be searched by Capitol Police, who discovered two bulletproof vests, a B.B. gun, magazines, and other ammo, but no actual firearms. He was parked near the Capitol for unknown reasons.
According to the U.S. Capitol Police, Felipe is accused of illegally possessing high-capacity magazines and unregistered ammunition.
According to a law enforcement source, Felipe looks to be nomadic and has been living out of his van for several months.

Felipe is the latest in a long line of people detained for illegal possession near the Capitol.
