President Joe Biden Robb Elementary School and meet the group in Uvalde.

Sunday, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden went to Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, where 19 children and 2 adults were killed in a mass shooting last week.

Mr. Biden and the first lady put flowers at the front of the school, and Jill Biden touched each student’s photo at a memorial set up in front of the school.

Protesters could be heard yelling, telling Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to do something.

After seeing the school, the Bidens went to Uvalde’s Sacred Heart Catholic Church for mass.

The White House says that Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller met the president and the first lady at the church.

“In the middle of chaos and destruction, we’ve returned to our home. To pray. And hang out, “One of the church leaders said before the service.

Another person started the mass by talking about recent problems, such as the pandemic, poverty, and the mass shooting that had just happened.

“Mr. President knows a lot about what is going on here. And we’re very thankful for his kindness, “he added.

After the service, protesters were heard shouting, “Do something!” twice, to which Mr. Biden replied, “We will.”

The Bidens also want to meet with the families of the people who died in the shooting and with people who were there and helped.

Mr. Biden is not likely to say anything official.

This is the second time this month that Mr. Biden has gone to a city where a mass shooting has recently happened. On May 17, he went to Buffalo, New York, where 10 people were shot and killed at a grocery store. In Buffalo, Mr. Biden strongly criticized the “hateful and perverse ideology” that has made its way into the mainstream.

Officials said Friday that they are still trying to figure out why the gunman in Uvalde did what he did.

But on Friday, the Texas Department of Public Safety said that it had been 90 minutes since the gunman entered the school until U.S. Border Patrol agents unlocked the classroom door and shot and killed him.

During that time, 20 officers stood in a hallway outside the classrooms for 45 minutes before using a master key to open the door.

The press conference on Friday came after days of mixed and incomplete news. Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, said that when he was first told about the police response, he was “led astray.”

“It turned out that some of the information I was given was wrong,” he said. “And I’m so angry about that it hurts.”

A few days after the shooting, tens of thousands of people gathered about 300 miles away in Houston, Texas, for the annual NRA convention.

This was the first one held since 2019 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Friday, many people protested outside of the convention and asked for stricter gun laws.
