Premier Secretary Narendra Modi is scheduled to engage with over 150 startups from
different sectors during the weekend (January 15, 2022) through video conferencing.
According to a statement issued from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the PMO
announced that startups from different sectors, including enterprise systems industry 4.0
security, fintech, security, and health and agriculture, are expected to be part of this
interplay.
PMO has also announced it has more than 150 new startups are split into six groups of
working, based on the following themes: starting from the ground and advancing the DNA
globally to local, the technology of the future, building manufacturers into champions as
well as sustainable growth.
“Each group will give presentations before Modi on the topic that they have been assigned
during the interaction. The purpose of the meeting is to discover the ways startups can
help meet national requirements by driving innovation across the nation,” the release said.
The event is organized through DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry as part of Azadi
Ka Amrit Mahotsav and runs for a week-long celebration, from 10 to 16 January.
The central theme will be “Celebrating Innovation Ecosystem,” It commemorates an
anniversary that is six years old since launching the “Startup India” initiative.
“Prime Minister is a firm believer in the power of Startups in contributing significantly to the
country’s development.
This was evident in introducing the most prominent program Startup India in 2016. The
government has focused on creating an environment to encourage the development and
growth of Startups,” the release stated.
This has had a significant impact on the ecosystem of startups in the country and resulted
in a massive growth in the number of unicorns operating in India.
