At a time when students from state government schools are taking classes online in light of the coronavirus pandemic, the Punjab Department of Education will begin the training program for new school principals starting Monday with the Indian School of Business (ISB), Mohali, as the Online Training Partner.
The five-day training aims to develop motivational leadership qualities and shape your overall personality. A total of 672 Head Masters will be trained, including 317 from Rashtriya Madhymik School Abhiyan (RMSA). In the first batch, 95 Head Masters will be trained from June 29 to July 3. The training will continue throughout the month of July.
“At COVID-19 times, it is very important to keep students updated with their subjects as well as other personality development activities with limited resources and hiccups in online classes. To handle such circumstances, we should have trained teachers, “said a senior official in the education department.
A district education officer said: “Teachers will receive training to run the school not only in normal times but also at times when everything has changed and studying at home has become a new normal.”
“A school principal must be resourceful in such circumstances and must know how to take up the challenge of COVID-19 and shape the future of his students,” said another officer.
Sangrur, a newly hired Senior High School Governance Director, said: “We are excited to receive this training at a time when student learning levels have been affected by the closure of schools.”
The Secretary of Education, Krishan Kumar, maintains that the training will be of an international level and that the directors of newly hired schools will receive training in managerial, leadership, professional and progressive qualities.
The main themes of the training program will be the contemporary context of leadership, motivation, the motivation of staff and students at the school level, motivation and sustainable leadership, team building and dynamics, and effective communication.
The sessions will be conducted by experts such as Dr. Arushi Jain, ISB; Chandrashekhar Sripada, ISB; Rajeshwar Upadhyay, Dr. Gulshan Sarma, CEO, ICSI; Dr. Sarada Chanrashkaran, Academic Director and Principal, Whitefield Global School, Banglore; Sweta Rajput, Professor Doreswamy Nandkishore, Amrita Chakravorty, and Dr. M Kanchan.
