Putin tells Macron West should stop sending arms to Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his French colleague Emmanuel Macron to discuss the situation in Ukraine, telling him that the West should stop delivering weaponry to Kyiv.
During the phone call, Putin emphasized that EU member countries disregard the “crimes committed by Ukrainian forces” and the huge shelling of cities and communities in the Donbas region, which has resulted in civilian losses.
“The West could assist end these atrocities by influencing the Kyiv government and banning arms supply to Ukraine,” Russian President Vladimir Putin was cited by the Kremlin.

Putin also informed Macron that despite the “inconsistencies in Kyiv’s attitude” and its “unwillingness” to take this process seriously, Russia “remains open to talks,” according to the Kremlin.
The two presidents agreed to keep in touch on a variety of levels.
Russia, in particular, disputes allegations of war crimes by its own forces in Ukraine, blaming civilian casualties on “nationalists” and “neo-Nazis,” a claim disputed by Kyiv and the West.
Meanwhile, Russian soldiers bombarded targets in eastern Ukraine on Tuesday, launching rockets at a steel facility in Mariupol, Ukraine’s last stronghold.
On Tuesday, Russian airstrikes in Ukraine’s Donetsk area killed 21 civilians and injured 27 others.
