Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are expected to release the
party’s youth manifesto on Friday (January 21, 2022).
Today, the Congress leaders will announce the UP youth manifesto during a press
conference at their headquarters. This rare occasion will see both Congress Party leaders
address the media.
According to reports, Randeep Surjewala will be there and KC Venugopal.
Congress will launch a social media campaign to highlight the key promises in its ‘Youth’
manifesto.
The party will be focusing on youth and women and has made it clear that 40 per cent of
its tickets in Uttar Pradesh will be reserved for women.
Congress published its second list of 41 candidates earlier Thursday.
This includes 16 women for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
16 of the 41 seats in the assembly have been allocated to women candidates.
This is 40% of the seats on the second list. Poonam Panit, a former Congress
spokesperson, is one of these 16 women candidates.
Sangeeta Tyagi is being fielded from the Sahibabad Assembly constituency.
The Congress party has announced 166 candidates in the two first phases of the Uttar
Pradesh assembly elections.
In the meantime, elections for the 403 assembly constituencies of Uttar Pradesh will take
place in seven phases beginning February 10.
In seven phases, the polling in Uttar Pradesh will take place on February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27
and March 3 and 7. The count of votes will be done on March 10.
