On Friday morning, Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, arrived in Udaipur, Rajasthan, for the party’s three-day Nav Sankalp Chintan Shivir. On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi traveled by rail from Delhi to Udaipur.
According to party insiders, the Congress’ three-day Chintan Shivir, which begins today in Udaipur, will focus on ‘communal division,’ farmers’ difficulties, and strengthening the party for the forthcoming elections.
According to sources, the Congress leaders will tackle the Centre-State relationship, the situation in the northeastern states, the Jammu and Kashmir problem, and sectarian division during the program.

The brainstorming session is scheduled to attract over 400 top Congress leaders from throughout the nation. Under the guidance of interim President Sonia Gandhi, the Congress will convene a ‘Chintan Shivir’ in Udaipur to review party organization and create a plan to oppose the BJP in the impending 2024 general elections.
At the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on March 14, senior leaders asked that Rahul Gandhi take over as President of the Congress.
According to reports, senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury advised Wayanad MP to take the position of President at the meeting.
According to additional sources, “Rahul is willing to take the job. A recommendation was made during the conference to conduct the presidential election in August-September. However, it was later determined that the continuing procedure could not be postponed.”
Rahul Gandhi resigned as Congress president after the party’s loss in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, and Sonia Gandhi took over as temporary president.
During the Chintan Shivir in Udaipur, there will likely be discussions and important decisions over the job of the Congress president.
The Chintan Shivir is being hosted after the party’s humiliation in state assembly elections earlier this year. In the last eight years, the party has suffered multiple electoral setbacks. Some influential members of Congress have resigned.
The Chintan Shivir will begin with Sonia Gandhi’s address to the public on May 13 and end with Rahul Gandhi’s speech on May 14.
