As party members took to the streets in support of Rahul Gandhi on Monday, a Congress worker stated the current BJP administration is “playing the role of ‘Raavan,'” while Rahul Gandhi is “Ram.”
Before his hearing before the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the National Herald money laundering case, Congress workers organize a nationwide rally in favor of Mr. Gandhi.
“The governing government is portraying the character of ‘Raavan.’ We want to let them know that Rahul Gandhi is our ‘Ram’ and that we are committed to him; we will continue our protest till Rahul Ji leaves the ED office,” “said a member of Congress dressed in traditional garb.
Mr. Gandhi had been called to join the ED probe on June 2, but he was out of the country then. He was subsequently summoned to attend the probe on June 13th.
Delhi Police apprehended and placed a large group of Congress workers into buses who came out in force to organize a protest in the national capital on Monday.
The ED has also summoned Congress President Sonia Gandhi in the money laundering case. Mrs. Gandhi tested positive for COVID-19 on an earlier date than expected. The central agency then gave a new summons for June 23.
