Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, will speak to party members at a rally on Monday and participate in a prayer meeting at the Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat, where the Assembly elections are scheduled for later this year.
Party officials announced that Mr. Gandhi would speak at the ‘Parivartan Sankalp’ convention of the Congress’ “booth fighters” along the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad.
In preparation for the Congress’s “Bharat Jodo Yatra,” he will go to the Sabarmati Ashram, where he will attend a prayer meeting and seek Mahatma Gandhi’s blessings.
On May 10, Mr. Gandhi made his last trip to Gujarat and spoke to tribals in Dahod town.

According to the party officials, he will organize Congress employees at the booth level for the next elections, kicking off the party’s election campaign.
Mr. Gandhi will be in Gujarat for two days before the party’s September 7 “Bharat Jodo Yatra” inauguration.
The 3,500 km long foot march would take over 150 days to complete, including 12 states and two Union Territories.
According to party officials, the Gujarat Assembly elections are scheduled for later this year, and the Congress has planned a three-month campaign.
Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, two prominent Congress members, said they would campaign during this time.
By September 15, they noted, the party hopes to have its first list of candidates available.
