emerging as CM Charanjit Channi and Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Both were last year in the media’s attention for attempting to succeed former Punjab
CM Amarinder Singh, which resulted in his departure from the Congress party.
Sidhu also publicly criticized his co-worker Channi following his nephew, the incumbent’s
CM, which ED detained with a land mining scam.
He stated that Punjab should select a CM who has moral authority.

central agencies before the elections.
The central government used these tactics to pressure opposition parties before elections in
the past.
He also said to the press that CM Channi had supported farmers during the Farmers’
protests.
Chaudhary declared she believes that the Congress party, its employees, and all the
citizens of Punjab stand with chief minister Channi and will provide an appropriate response
to people using “cheap strategies” during the forthcoming Punjab Assembly elections. In addition, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the state in January and was
stranded on a flyover, CM Channi had said that he would not impose lathi on farmers.
He told his Central government was seeking revenge on the chief minister.
Punjab will be voting on the 20th of February. The count of votes will be conducted on
March 10.
