Puducherry, February 14: Congressional leader Rahul Gandhi will kick off the Congressional election campaign here by addressing a public meeting on February 17.
The Union Territory, along with Tamil Nadu, will go to the assembly polls in the coming months.

PCC Chairman AV Subramanian said in a statement Sunday that Rahul Gandhi will address the public meeting on the AFT mill ground in front of the court complex here.
Congress now heads the government here with DMK’s support from outside. The party returned to the 15-segment House at the polls held in 2016.
However, it suffered a setback following the resignation of A Namassivayam as minister of PWD and also as MLA on 25 January.
Another congressional legislator, E Theeppainthan, also resigned from the MLA post on the same day, reducing the strength of Congress in the House from 30 members to 12, including the President.
They switched their allegiance to the BJP. Congressional lawmaker N Dhanavelou was disqualified for anti-party activities by the president in July last year.
The three DMK members have been supporting the government led by Narayanasamy from outside.
Two legislators from DMK, R Siva and M Geetha, are chairmen of the state-owned Industries Development Corporation and the Puducherry Power Corporation in Karaikal.
