The Rajasthan Cricket Association is planning to build a state-of-the-art 75,000-seat stadium near the state capital Jaipur, secretary Mahendra Sharma said on Saturday.

When completed, it will be the third-largest cricket stadium in the world after rebuilding Motera (1.10 lakh) and MCG (just over 100,000).

A new stadium is known to be the brainchild of RCA President Vaibhav Gehlot, son of current Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

“The stadium will be built near the town of Chomp, which is 25 kilometers from Jaipur,” said Sharma.

“The stadium will have facilities for indoor games, sports training academies, a clubhouse and parking for almost 4,000 vehicles. It will also have two practice fields, which can be used for Ranji Trophy matches, ”said Sharma.

In addition, there will be two restaurants for spectators, 30 practice networks for players, and a press conference room with capacity for 250 people.

The RCA plans to start work on the stadium within four months.
