On Thursday, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit the advanced regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr. Singh will begin a two-day visit to the Union Territory, where he will meet with soldiers.
On Friday, he will attend Maharaja Gulab Singh’s 200th-anniversary ‘Rajyabhishek’ in Jammu.
Gulab Singh established the Dogra dynasty in Jammu and Kashmir as the first Maharaja of the Topa Rajput princely state.
Under British rule, Topa Rajput was the second-largest princely state, formed to defeat the Sikh empire during the First Anglo-Sikh War.
Mr. Singh used Twitter to announce his itinerary.
“I’ll be in Jammu and Kashmir for two days starting tomorrow, June 16th. During my tour, I will visit forward regions and engage with soldiers. In addition, on Friday, June 17th, I will attend the 200th anniversary of Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji’s ‘Rajyabhishek Ceremony’ in Jammu, “He tweeted.
Mr. Singh has also urged more cooperation between the civil administration and the Armed Forces to boost national security and cope with future challenges posed by the ever-changing global scenario.

On Monday, he spoke to participants at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, during the 28th Joint Civil-Military Training Programme.
The idea of national security has widened, according to the Minister, as various non-military components have been added to the more fundamental issue of protection against military threats.
Rajnath Singh has cited the scenario between Russia and Ukraine and other crises as indications that the globe is facing difficulties beyond traditional combat.
“Peace and war are no longer two distinct entities but a continuum. The conflict continues on numerous fronts even while the country is at peace. A full-scale conflict is as deadly to a nation as to its adversaries. As a result, full-fledged battles have been avoided in recent decades. Proxies and non-combat warfare have taken their place.
Technology, supply chains, information, energy, trade systems, and banking systems, among other things, are becoming weaponized and might be used against us in the future.
People must work together to deal with this broader range of security concerns. “To solve these difficulties, he added, the “Whole of the Nation” and “Whole of the Government” methods must be used, he said.
With the formation of the Chief of Defence Staff job and the Department of Military Affairs establishment, Mr. Singh said that the Government had begun a full-fledged process of civil-military jointness.
He claims that these measures are assisting the nation in preparing for future issues. He went on to say that the initiatives made to modernize the Armed Forces and turn the defense sector into an ‘Aatmanirbhar’ had begun to bear fruit.
“Now, in keeping with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Make in India, Make for the World,’ India is not only producing equipment for its Armed Forces but also addressing the demands of friendly nations,” he stated.
