Rakesh Tikait Responds to Haryana Congress Leader’s ‘Liquor’ Comment
Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait dismissed comments from a Haryana congressional leader calling on party workers to donate money and liquor to farmers protesting at the Delhi border points against the new agricultural laws. Tikait said those leaders have nothing to do with the “farmers movement.”
“What is the liquor for here? I don’t know why he is making such comments. Those people have nothing to do with the movement. It is wrong and should not be done,” Tikait told reporters at Vidya of Congress. Rani’s controversial statement.
“They can distribute whatever they want in their own (congressional) movement,” he added.
Earlier Monday, Congress leader Vidya Rani called on her party’s workers to distribute alcohol, among other things, to “support” the farmers’ agitation. Rani made the comment during the congressional executive meeting in Jind.

Everyone should celebrate panchayats. Priyanka is sitting in Delhi, so what can she do alone here? She must visit the village. “
“We are not conducting mahapanchayats. The (political leaders) should have their own panchayats, not our farmers’ unions,” he added.
